Installing ColdBricks

The default installation process for ColdBricks is fairly simple. Just unzip the package contents into the webroot of the server and access it using your browser by going to:

http://<your_server>/ColdBricks

The default username and password are both 'admin'.

PLEASE CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD AS SOON AS YOU LOGIN INTO COLDBRICKS!!!!

On its first run, ColdBricks will create its data directory. By default, it will create a directory named /ColdBricksData right under the webroot. Make sure that the ColdBricks application has enough file system permissions to create and write to this directory.

Additionally, ColdBricks uses the HomePortals Framework. The framework files are included in the standard ColdBricks distribution package, however you may also obtain them directly from the HomePortals website at http://www.homeportals.net. HomePortals should be installed on a directory named /homePortals.

NOTE: It is possible to install ColdBricks on its own webroot (i.e. Apache Virtual Server), however you must then define a ColdFusion mapping named ColdBricks pointing to the location of the ColdBricks application. In addition, ColdBricks requires access to the HomePortals framework, this means that the /homePortals directory must be accessible from the location where ColdBricks is installed, both by linking directly to it and by referencing it via ColdFusion.
